Lahontan Cutthroat Trout

Did you know our state fish, the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout, is one of only three species known to be fur-bearing? These fish sprout their coats this time of year so they can make it up the Truckee river and spawn before other species, giving their young a headstart.*
