Today is the last day of #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth. We’ve been focusing on pre-contact material culture, it’s important to remember that Indigenous people & cultures are still very much alive and fully modern, so today we have Alissa Dick’s dance regalia from the early 2000s.
This outfit is also an example of shared culture, as buckskin dresses (along with many other types of regalia worn today), were introduced from other tribes after colonization. In Stillwater, most clothing was made of sagebrush
