We mentioned earlier that baskets can be waterproofed with pine pitch, so we wanted to show off some examples of Paiute water jugs! The base of the jug on the left has a traditional pointed tip, which helps prevent spills. As settlers arrived, many Paiute weavers started creating flat-bottomed jugs, mimicking those settlers brought.
