Happy Veterans Day!

The museum is closed today, but here’s some Veterans Day History! Armistice Day, a celebration and remembrance of the end of WWI on November 11, 1918, became a national holiday in 1926. In 1954, the day was officially changed to Veterans Day and now honors all veterans.

The photo below is of Harold Swingle and and unnamed friend who fought in WWI.

Black and white photograph of two men in WWI uniforms on horseback. 1917 is written at the bottom of the photo.
