Hispanic Heritage Month – Mining Days

Though Spain and Mexico both claimed what is now Nevada, neither was interested in settling Churchill County. The 1910 census is the earliest record we have of Hispanic people here. Four Spaniards worked in Fairview and Wonder, while a fifth, Antonio Sabala, worked in Stillwater. #HispanicHeritageMonth
