We’re starting our lecture series with Ken Beaton, who will be talking about his book A Toddler’s Picture: In His Uncle’s Helmet. Join us next Wednesday at 6pm!

Ken’s mom took a picture of him in 1942 and sent it to her brother, Richard, a member of the First Special Service Force, “The Devil’s Brigade.”  Pvt. Daigle placed Ken’s picture in his helmet. Richard was killed in action on December 3, 1949, on Monte la Difena, Italy.  After Ken’s parents passed, he discovered the picture. After 16 years of research and two trips to climb Monte la Difensa, Ken published his book, A Toddler’s Picture:  In His Uncle’s Helmet on December 3, 2018, a month before the 75th anniversary of his uncle’s death.
