Happy Native American Heritage Day!

Today is Native American Heritage Day, and though the museum is closed we encourage everyone to take time to learn what they can about the original occupants of the land they’re on. For those of us in Fallon, that means the Toi-Ticutta who are now recognized as the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe.

At the museum, we have a number of exhibits presenting information about traditional lifeways, including our new Hidden Cave exhibit. We also sell In the Shadow of Fox Peak, the most comprehensive book on Toi-Ticutta traditional lifeways and culture, in our store and online!
