Virtual Reality Hidden Cave

August 15, 2021

Hidden Cave is a cultural and scientific treasure located in our backyard. Thousands of years of human and natural history fill the interior of the cave, attracting multiple teams of archaeologists in the mid-twentieth century. Since the 1980s, Hidden Cave tours have brought thousands of people to visit the site. Today we announce a new development: you can now visit Hidden Cave right at the Churchill County Museum, Churchill County Library, or Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Community Learning Center!

The Hidden Cave Virtual Reality experience, designed by UNR’s @One Digital Media Team, includes a tour of the cave, 3D artifacts you can pick up and handle, and audio information about the site.

Virtual Reality Experience and Exhibit will launch at the:

  • Churchill County Library- September 10, 3-5 p.m.
  • Churchill County Museum-September 18, 1-3p.m.
  • Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Community Learning Center- September 23, 5-7 p.m.

This project was made possible in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The library is located at 553 S Maine Street and www.churchillcountylibrary.org.
