History on the Go!

Special Programs Just for Teachers!

Attention, Teachers!

Are your classes studying history, Native Americans, science, agriculture, or art? Would you like your class to use the museum as a resource, but time or money prevent a field trip? Then let the museum come to you!

The Churchill County Museum proudly presents:
"History on the Go"

We currently have the following programs ready to bring directly to your classroom!*
.
bulletThe Historian as a Detective
bulletPioneers
bulletFiber Arts

The programs on Pioneers and Fiber Arts include either a general exhibit or a focused exhibit. In the Pioneer module, the focus is on kitchens and cookery, or on Pioneer Living. The focus of the Fiber Arts module is on spinning, weaving, basketry and dyeing of fiber sources.

Exhibits in which you wish to have a hands-on activity included (churning, rope-making, basket-making, spinning, felting or paper making) will have a $0.50 per child materials charge.

For further information or to schedule an exhibit, please contact the Churchill County Museum at education@ccmuseum.org or call 775-423-3677.

In the works, and currently available at the museum is an exhibit on the Ecology of the Lahontan Valley and on Native Americans.
