On June 16, over 100 people crowded into the Museum Annex to
celebrate the Churchill County Museum and the Museum Associations 30th anniversary.
Inside, seating arrangements were cozy, but the unpredictable weather of the last few
weeks forced the meeting to take place inside. Wont it be a wonderful day when there
will be a large meeting room inside the museum that will comfortably hold 150-200 people?!
That day should arrive in about two years if plans for the Museum Associations
building expansion stay on track. After Board Trustee Glen Perazzo highlighted some of the
events of the past 30 years, Museum Director Jane Pieplow informed the crowd of the new
expansion plans and encouraged everyone to make a monetary contribution to the Museum
Associations Building Fund. Every dollar donated to the Building Fund will be used
as matching cash for the numerous grants that will be solicited to help complete the
project. Donors will also be acknowledged in the new lobby area on a donors wall.
Other events at the Annual Meeting included the nomination of two new board members,
Norine Arciniega and Bernadette Francke. Both ladies will be an asset to the Board!
Musical entertainment was provided by Harmony 5 and the meeting adjourned with
build-your-own ice cream sundaes and anniversary cake.
What challenges and accomplishments will the next 30 years bring to the Churchill
County Museum Association?!?
